Existence and Dynamic Consistency of Nash Equilibrium with Non-expected Utility Preferences*
نویسنده
چکیده
Sufficient conditions for the existence of a Nash equilibrium are given when preferences may violate the reduction of compound lotteries assumption (RCLA). Without RCLA decision makers may not be indifferent between compound lotteries which have the same probabilities of final outcomes. Therefore the conditions depend on how players perceive the game-whether they view themselves as moving first or second. We also review conditions under which the equilibria will be dynamically consistent. Journal of Economic Literature Classification Number: 026.

Epistemic Conditions for Equilibrium in Beliefs without Independence
Aumann and Brandenburger [Econometrica 63 (1995), 1161 1180.] provide sufficient conditions on the knowledge of the players in a game for their beliefs to constitute a Nash equilibrium. They assume, among other things, mutual knowledge of rationality. By rationality of a player, it is meant that the action chosen by him maximizes his expected utility, given his beliefs. There is, however, no ne...
متن کاملScalarization methods and expected multi-utility representations
We characterize the class of (possibly incomplete) preference relations over lotteries that can be represented by a compact set of (continuous) expected utility functions which preserve both indifferences and strict preferences. This finding contrasts with the representation theorem of Dubra, Maccheroni and Ok (2004) which either delivers a noncompact set of utility functions, or at least one f...

متن کاملEquilibrium in Abstract Economies with a Non-compact Infinite Dimensional Strategy Space, an Infinite Number of Agents and without Ordered Preferences
The abstract economy defined by Debreu (1952) generalizes the Nash non-cooperative game in that a player’s strategy set depends on the strategy choices of all the other players. Debreu (1952) proved the existence of equilibrium in abstract economies with finitely many agents, finite dimensional strategy space, and quasi-concave utility functions. Since then, the Debreu’s result has been extende...
متن کاملNash Equilibrium Strategy for Bi-matrix Games with L-R Fuzzy Payoffs
In this paper, bi-matrix games are investigated based on L-R fuzzy variables. Also, based on the fuzzy max order several models in non-symmetrical L-R fuzzy environment is constructed and the existence condition of Nash equilibrium strategies of the fuzzy bi-matrix games is proposed. At last, based on the Nash equilibrium of crisp parametric bi-matrix games, we obtain the Pareto and weak Pareto...
